The first music player on hi5 was huge, both in dimensions and file size. The goal of the player’s redesign was to shrink these, while adding functionality. The redesigned music player could be set to a compact view for the profile page, or to a large view on music pages and for music management. The new player also could be set to a variety of colors to match the style of the user’s profile, and could easily display its text in any language.
After the redesign, the music player was 65% smaller in file size in spite of its additional features.
